Trails End Recovery : Our Services

Trails End Recovery was established as a Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Certified M.R.R.F. (pronounced merf) or Materials Recovery and Recycling Facility, in 2001. All of our composting and materials processing is done here at our 22 acre site in Warrenton. We are a full service yard where you can bring everything from Yard Trimmings to Construction Demolition materials. We will also take appliances if they are CFC Free, all metal products such as old barbecues, sinks and bathtubs, hot water heaters, and trailers, even old cars if you have a title for it. Unfortunately our DEQ Permit currently does not allow us to take hazardous materials such as ACB (Asbestos Containing Materials), Paint, Motor or Cooking Oil, Gasoline, Kerosene, and Aerosol Cans. Likewise, Fuel Tanks, bulk tires, hot mop rooking tear-offs, etc. If you would like information on where to take these materials please call Clatsop County Public Heath at 503-325-8500 or call our office at 503-861-6030.

Custom Milling:“Ready for Delivery!”

When it comes to re-sawn wood, there are few left in the area that can do it the old way. Dean’s father Dale Larson learned his craft from his father, who learned it from his father before him. For three generations the Larson family has had a deep reverence for wood and that tradition is carried on today by Dean.

Trails End Recovery can uniquely meet the demands of project development with a customizable list of milling services. Size, shape, age, texture, moisture content, and grading standards are all tools that are readily available for our customer's disposal. With immediate service on quotes and complete scheduling information, time can be spent developing a project - not looking for material.

Our Milling Services Include:

  • Ready access to a variety of woods

  • Reclaimed Dimensional Stock

  • Heavy Timbers and Glu-Lams

  • Rough Sawn

  • Planing

  • Nominal & Full-dimensional Cuts

  • Grading

Much of our product is so fine in quality that Architects and Building Designers can incorporate our products directly into the design.  When design is kept to the forefront of the project, you, the customer, are assured of a high quality job resulting in a structure that is of greater value.

Material Recovery

Our Salvaged and Reclaimed Lumber products are at the very heart of our business. Trails End Recovery was founded on the practice of recycling heritage wood materials into usable, valuable elements that can be incorporated into your landscape design or the renovations and remodeling of your home or office.

We have unique, one of a kind material that you simply will not find anywhere else. Call to make an appointment and we can show you the materials in person. Only then can you get a real feel of what reclaimed lumber looks like. We can provide Our office displays a few of the products and some ideas on what you can do. The trim throughout the building is from the gym bleachers at Lewis and Clark School. The conference table is made out of materials that were recovered from the demolition of Pier 3. The counter in the office is made out of a beam from the 2005 Astoria Safeway demolition.

So, if you are looking for a safer, more cost effective solution to disposing of clean wood debris, Trails End Recovery has the experience you need. Call today! (503.861.6030)
